Applesauce Cake

I love my grandmother's recipes because they use simply what's on the pantry shelf

1/3 cup butter or shortening
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups of apple sauce
2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup of raisins

Cream butter and sugar then add apple sauce
Sift flour, baking soda and spices add to above
Mix well - fold in raisins

Bake in a well-greased pan at 350 degrees for approx 30 minutes (until knife comes out clean)
