tasty, better than store bought and much less expensive!
Ingredients:
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup brown sugar
2-3 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups of raw almonds
1/2 cup other nuts
1/2 cup sunflower seeds/pumpkins seeds or other healthy choice
5 cups old fashion oatmeal
raisin/ dry cranberries/dried cherries or some other fruit of your choice
I love putting some coconut in as well - if you use that add before cooking.
Mix 1/3 cup maple syrup mixed with 1/3 cup of brown sugar and two teaspoons of vanilla extract
whisk together and add 1/2 cup vegetable oil.
Then add to mixture: 1 1/2 cups almonds chopped (preferable raw) 1/2 cup other chopped nuts of your choice (I like to use mixed nuts), 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, pumpkins seeds or any other healthy seed you choose (also chopped)
5 cups of old fashioned oatmeal (don't use fast cooking or instant)
spread on to a baking sheet or pan (I line with aluminum foil first) pat down and cook for 45 minutes.
When finished cooking add raisins, dried cranberries, or any other dried fruit you might like to mixture. (adding them after keeps them from drying out during cooking process)
